★ Why rabbits dont make good pets ★

As a rabbit owner, I grew to think rabbits are not good pets. Despite my personal relations with my own, which is a whole another story, I believe this as an objective thing. Their only defense against predators is outbreeding them. I feel like neutering rabbits because of this, is way worse than dogs or cats. For any animal, their insticts are obviously just eating, fucking and surviving, but I feel it is way stronger for rabbits. Unlike dogs, who have been literally bred to be companions for us, rabbits aren't really attached to humans. Sure, you might say "oh, but mine is! he loves me!" and I wouldn't deny that: you can make even a wild animal love you by feeding it. But overall as a species, they aren't like that. But of course, if we don't neuter them, it's a ton of hormonal stress, which isn't good for anyone, not the owner, not the bunny. So our only choice is to do neuter them, so they can be the perfect little plush animal in our homes. I just feel it's especially cruel for rabbits to do this, especially because they aren't usually free roaming.
But anyway I am not pressed about this, I welcome other opinions so I can broaden my world view!
